Virtual Reopening of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library
After a successful three year renovation, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library reopens with a virtual program celebrating the opening and the Library’s service to District residents. The opening ceremony features remarks and ribbon cutting by The Honorable Muriel Bowser, Mayor of Washington, D.C., Gregory McCarthy, Chairman of the Board of the DC Public Library and Richard Reyes-Gavilan, DC Public Library Executive Director.
Special recorded remarks are to follow the ribbon-cutting, along with performances by Howard University a cappella ensemble Afro Blue. Enjoy the sounds of Les the DJ before and after the event.
